
1) STOP! "Am I hungry? or is it something else?" usually the answer is X is stressing me out. Or I just had an argument and Im upset! - Human nature is to seek comfort in times of discomfort.
2) What could you do that ACTUALLY would impact the stress? Anything pro-active? if no then use step 3
3) Pattern interrupt. Your natural reaction to stress is turning to food? Cool when you catch yourself take a beat to pattern interrupt the normal routine of bingeing. Big glass of water and then do one of the things from step 4 below
4) Make a list of 4x5
- 5 things that help you to relax or decompress
- 5 People you can talk to when stressed out
- 5 Places you can go to relax
- 5 Activities you can do when stressed
